Goblins
Goblins are usually thought of as being about the height of dwarfs, with huge noses and grotesque features. Goblins are regarded as evil faeries that can grow from 30cm to 2 m tall.
Goblins generally have a bestial appearance, their brow is covered with thick, dirty hair and their mouth is full of crooked and yellow teeth. Goblins are usually thought of as being very shrewd and cunning, with a particular penchant for gold.
Goblins are usually green in colour, and many people think that they are invisible to the human eye. Goblins are thought to be able to weave nightmares from gossamer, and push them into the ears of sleeping people.
Goblins are thought to steal human women and children, before hiding them underground. Goblin women are thought to steal human babies, and replace them with hideous goblin babies.
Some people think that the smile of a goblin can curdle the blood. The laugh of a goblin is thought to sour milk and make fruit fall from trees. Goblins often cause havoc with unfunny pranks such as tipping over pails of milk and switching around signposts.
Goblins are thought to be friends with ghosts and goblins, and are likely to roam around causing mayhem on Halloween. A group of goblins is referred to as a horde.
